Lobbying

Never before has the wholesale sector been faced with such a myriad of legislation. Changing demographics within the Scottish population and trends in our nation’s lifestyle – and the creation of the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government – have inevitably brought with them new issues and policies for the SWA and its Members to take on board.

From the plethora of ongoing employment legislation, the introduction of legislation in 2006 to ban smoking in enclosed public places, changes to packaging regulations and imminent changes to Scotland’s licensing laws, our lobbying function is more pertinent today than ever before. Our input in a number of key areas has been robust with Dundee-based ecos, an independent consultancy headed by expert Scott Brady, advising the SWA.
