The Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) is the official trade association for Scotland’s food and drink wholesaling businesses.

Our key objectives are:

• to represent the best interests of our Members and the 15,000-plus people employed within the Scottish wholesale industry
  
• to lobby the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government on key issues affecting the trade and raise the funds necessary to enable us to carry out this function effectively and comprehensively
• to encourage and promote training within the industry
• to offer unbiased advice to our Members on all areas of relevant legislation
• to facilitate a clear and efficient communications channel between wholesalers and suppliers

Established in 1940, the SWA’s current Membership extends to almost 40 wholesalers, ranging from single depot, family-owned, Scottish-based businesses – many in remote parts of the country – to national wholesale groups operating 20-plus cash and carries north of the Border.

Membership covers the independent retail, food service, catering and licensed on and off-trade sectors.
