OCTOBER 2007 – PRESS RELEASE
SWA website goes live
October marks an important milestone in the history and development of the Scottish Wholesale Association with the launch of the organisation’s new website.
The purpose of the website is to provide the trade and other interested parties with comprehensive and up-to-date information about the Association, including its role and responsibilities. It also lists members of the SWA Council along with details of members, associate members, news and forthcoming events.
Kate Salmon, executive director of the Association, explained: “As a professional and increasingly high-profile trade association, it is important that our members and colleagues are able to access information about us and our activities at any time – having an online presence is clearly the way forward as we strive to strengthen our lines of communication.
“The SWA is also committed to working more closely in the future with other trade associations in key areas such as lobbying. We are keen to comment and contribute to government discussions on the important issues affecting our members – licensing legislation, for example.
“Having a professional website sends out an important message to the Scottish Government and others involved in these debates that we are a trade association with considerable clout and can make a relevant and useful contribution.”
