Diageo is just one of our Supplier Members to have supported the SWA's training programme

Our long-established product knowledge seminars covering a wide range of sectors have been well received by our Members with many over-subscribed. In 2012, the Scottish Wholesale Association will extend the programme and facilitate a broad range of tailored seminars and workshops, in partnership with Supplier Members.

2012's training programme will be managed and developed by 121 HR Solutions. We also provide additional member benefits by offering access to HR professionals for advice and support in HR-related issues.

Training Events 2012

The Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) is delighted to unveil its 2012 training programme.

Seminars/workshops planned for 2012 will be announced once dates and venues have been confirmed, but the programme includes:

30 May 2012 and 7 June 2012 - Customer Care for Drivers

This workshop, covering a wide range of issues related to customer care specifically for drivers, will be delivered by AG Barr at its offices in Cumbernauld.

15 June 2012 - HR Surgeries at the SWA Annual Conference

A series of HR Surgeries will be held at the SWA's Annual Conference in June.

Members of the SWA will be aware that a key membership benefit is support from 121 HR Solutions in respect of human resources and employment law advice.

As part of this support, we are pleased to confirm that 121 will attend the conference on Friday, 15 June to provide HR Surgeries for members who may wish to discuss a particular HR conundrum.

The advice and support of 121 has proved to be an invaluable asset to many of our members who have regularly used the helpline and LiveChat facility.

Some of the issues that 121 has assisted members with are as follows:

  • Support to manage a capability dismissal
  • Support to manage unacceptable absence at work
  • Support to manage a disciplinary regarding theft
  • Support to manage a grievance against a line manager

So if you have a problem, a question, a query or a concern about any aspect of human resources in your organisation, then why not book a place at one of our surgery sessions?

No charge will be made for these sessions so why not use the opportunity to have a qualified expert support your business?

May 2012 - Managing Conflict in the Workplace and Managing Effectively in Tough Times

This workshop will be delivered by the SWA's own training provider, 121 HR Solutions, and will be a repeat of the highly successful workshops held last September.

September 2012 - Customer Service

This workshop will be delivered by Coca-Cola Enterprises.

October 2012 - Selling & Negotiating Skills

This workshop will be delivered by Tennent's.

The SWA receives offers of support from Supplier Members committed to providing not just skilled trainers but also materials to help Members get the best out of their staff.
