The SWA stages two key annual events that are unique in the UK and present us with a real point of difference over other trade associations.

We also run a number of training courses, workshops and interactive sessions covering a wide range of topics. Keep checking the website for updates.

This final course, building skills for working in teams, will pull upon the previous learnings and help you understand how teams can achieve more when there is a greater understanding of yourself and others, and better communication within the team.

We examine how, by the way you communicate, it impacts both on yourself as well as those that you are communicating with. The workshop will look at the importance of good listening, speaking and writing skills as well as their use within emails/media. Use this course to help develop sound interpersonal communications with your peers and your managers.

This customer service and sales training course will not only prepare you for the most common and demanding elements of the customer facing work, it will make you stand out to the customer.

The session will look at personal development and mental fitness. It is aimed at enhancing your resilience and professional skills, including your employability, quality of life, self-discipline, talent and potential.

As part of SWA’s commitment to improve the skills of our members' workforce, here we offer accredited online training programmes.

Each is designed to complement employers’ existing in-house training provision and improve each learner’s knowledge and skills by assessing their core competencies against national standards.

SWA training provider, Capita Learning has secured funding from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to run a fully funded BCS SCQF Level7 Digital Skills Training Course worth £3k per learner.

The course has been specifically designed to focus on Data Analysis, and data presentation, and is part SWA’s ‘Decarbonisation of The Wholesale Industry’ project plans in helping the wholesale industry on the road to net zero. The course, outlined within the attached document, will give the employee the capability to start and analyse your company’s data – including fleet emissions, route planning & efficiencies, building efficiencies etc.
